Bamboo Treatment & Tests

Bamboo is as strong as steel in tensile strength.  It will bend where other materials would break.  But without the proper treatment, it’s going to fail sooner rather than later. The best treatment for bamboo is a borax bath just after it has been cut.  This allows the plant to pull the solution up into its fibers before they dry.  For our bamboo products, we go a step further and put it through a carbonization chamber that takes out moisture and starch leaving only fibers behind. The treated bamboo is the best guarantee against mold and bugs. So far we have had none of these issues to report in any of our furniture.
